Coolest Pet? - Guild Wars Forums

Now with Heros you can have 4 pets attacking in your team.
Your's and 3 from your heroes.

I find that quite an advantage since the amount of damage can add up significantly especially if you have Olias, or Master of whispers with you.

4 pets + 3 heroes + you + 9-10 minions = 17-18 damage sources with only 4 member groups. That is nice :-)

As far as I have understood with the exception of bears, all other pets are pretty much the same.

So what are your coolest pets? Where could we find them, and charm them for us or our heroes?

Well my pet is a Spider from the Underworld and AFAIK pets for heroes are always Elder Wolfs same a PvP. I haven't tested but pretty sure I read that somewhere.

Anyways Pets are a good utility I prefer a Quick Shot ranger anyday of the week.

My Ranger Primary has a phoenix from factions. Its quite annoying but I don't see a lot of them about.
My Warrior/Ranger has a Black Moa - also from factions. If I where to start giving my heros pets then I would get them black moas aswell (they start at level 15 and aren't too difficult to get)

But where EXACTLY did you charm them?

btw. pet's for heroes can be any pet that you choose and can have the development of any pet...

Black Moa > Ferndale (only during quest: The Beak of Darkness ?)
Pheonix > Divine Path (you MUST succesfully complete Imperial Sanctum mission to access Divine Path)

Black Moa's start at lvl 20 not 15.

IMHO the Jahai Rat is the coolest pet out.i mean whats better then having a giant pet rat named Splinter.

try to get a diff pet for each hero you have, then the enemy will think it is under attack from escaped zoo.

me and my heros together have:
Tiger
White tiger
Lynx
Melandru's Stalker

thinking of getting lion and lioness for other heros later

Thanks Domon - I never go warrior/ranger so I never check on it - just got it for kicks.
If it does start at level 20 then its even better for heros

Aegeroth - I think the black moa always spawns in Ferndale once you have completed Beak of Darkness. I'd need to check Wiki but I'm pretty sure you can go back and get it if you failed to get it during the quest

I have a Lion and a Lioness which I charmed at level 12, and aggressive.
Also a Lynx.

The lions you can find at Jahai Bluffs if I am not mistaken... but I will check and let you know...

Phoenix also sounds really cool.

Concerning bears, they are a bit slower in their attacks, according to wiki..

I concur wholeheartedly. Even though they are slow, they're still cool.

On the bonus side, I believe that an elder bear has the best body blocking out of all the pets.

I have a different set for each of my toons, 4 crocs, 4 striders, 4 pigs, 4 flamingos, 4 bears... Each hero for that toon has the same pet.

Just look them up on Guildwiki to find locations.

As for the black moa, I've been told that black moa bird is always out there in Ferndale (outside of Ft. Aspenwood) once you finish the black moa quest. I haven't tested it, but I heard so from the biggest PvE game freak I know. He's yet to steer me wrong. (Like many others, I'm looking forward to pouncing on him for an incorrect answer someday, though. )

I've charmed myself, returned to HzH and went back to get it for Jin.
So it's there after the quest.
(I wanted to have a quick laugh in Elona with the Black Moa and decided to get one for me and Jin).

I like Phoenix, Spider and Black Moa myself.
